Happy New Year!!!

I can’t believe it’s already 2026! Wow, last year went by in a flash. While I didn’t finish the year exactly where I envisioned, I made some great progress. I aimed to lose 26 more pounds and ended up at 24.7 pounds, which I’m proud of! Any weight loss is a step in the right direction. My doctor encouraged me to aim for about half a pound a week, considering the natural methods I’m using and the physical challenges I face that limit my activity. I’m sure he’s pleased with my efforts. Plus, let’s face it, I always enjoy some festive treats over the holidays! But here we are, ready to embrace the possibilities of this new year!

Do you set New Year’s resolutions or do you focus on setting intentions? The distinction is exciting: resolutions represent a strong commitment to change, while intentions invite us to be present, embracing the moment without dwelling on the past or worrying too much about the future. For instance, a resolution like, “I am going to work out 5 days a week,” can be motivating, but if you miss a day due to a busy schedule or feeling under the weather, it may bring disappointment. In contrast, an intention could be phrased more fluidly, such as, “I will embrace more physical activity in the new year.” This approach fosters a positive mindset and removes barriers to success. For that reason, I enthusiastically choose to set intentions!

In 2026, I am excited to focus on more whole foods and reduce my intake of processed and sugary options. I’ll prioritize nutrient-rich foods that not only nourish my body but also delight my taste buds, embracing the joy of good eating over mere convenience. I’m committed to avoiding unnecessary chemicals as I strive to put my health at the forefront of my journey. Additionally, I plan to incorporate more movement into my routine, especially after dedicating the first few months to enhancing my nutrition. I’ve noticed in recent months how the choices I make impact my body’s inflammation and, consequently, my overall well-being, including pain levels and therapy. I’m looking forward to this transformative path!

Hi, I'm Rese. I'm starting out on the road to wellness. My journey will not look like yours. And I guarantee that there will be many stumbles along the way. Life happens, and to be honest, I known that I won't break years of bad habits overnight. But I will keep moving forward. I won't let it defeat me. My goal is not to lose weight, although that would definitely be welcome, but instead to lower my blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol by finding a healthier way of eating. A way that works for me and my lifestyle. Some days will be perfect and some days will look like a train wreck, but eventually, I hope there are more good days than bad ones. Or at least that's the goal!
