Jan’s Journey

Hello, I’m Jan. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I live in North Central Ohio. I am married and have two grown sons. I am also a fur mom to two adopted male cats. I work full time as a Certified Medical Assistant in a busy Ears, Nose and Throat specialty office.

I am in the mist of my weight loss journey. As of the middle of December I have lost 25 pounds for my last time. I am aiming to lose 25-30 more pounds to get to my goal. I have done many of the usual diets including, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, and many online “quick loss fad diets” over the years. Currently I am working on losing my weight for good. This time I am focusing on the reasons for my overeats and f*ck it eats. You see, for me, it’s not just don’t eat this or that, but the mental side of things. There are mental reasons we eat when we aren’t physically hungry and also why we don’t stop before we overeat and stuff ourselves. I am working on catching these thoughts and reasons and learning on feeling them instead of eating to numb them. I focus on what can be considered as intuitive eating. I eat when I am physically hungry and stop when I have had enough.

I am not a medical doctor to diagnosis conditions, but I can help you with the mental side of weight loss. That for me has been hard. I am still working on it. Every single day. It’s not a “quick fix” like many weight loss programs claim. It’s more of a slow and steady progress to help you lose the weight and keep it off.

I love to have others follow along and encourage me. I also love to help and encourage others. That is where you come in. I would love to help out in your journey in any way I can.
